I have read similar posts on here, and find the suspicion surrounding this quite disturbing. I have always found it problematic that, in a profession which is deemed to be ‘caring’, it has been insinuated that I care too much about my students’ well being, simply because I care when they do well, am upset when they don’t, bother to talk to them when they are upset, and am not driven by my own ambition but by wanting them to succeed.
